The Copper Akhand Meru Shree Yantra is a three-dimensional representation of the traditional Sri Yantra, designed in a raised Meru form that gives the sacred geometry a distinct pyramidal appearance. This 5-inch yantra combines traditional Sri Yantra symbolism with a substantial display format suitable for a home mandir, meditation area, puja space or spiritual workplace.
The word Akhand conveys the idea of something whole, continuous or undivided. In the context of a yantra, it is commonly used to describe a complete, uninterrupted form of the sacred geometric design.
What Makes the Meru Form Different?
Unlike a flat engraved Sri Yantra, a Meru Shree Yantra develops upward from the base toward the central point. This three-dimensional arrangement creates visible levels and depth, allowing the geometry to be observed from different angles.
The raised structure is traditionally connected with Mount Meru, the symbolic cosmic mountain found in Indian spiritual and cosmological traditions. In Sri Yantra practice, the Meru form is therefore appreciated not only for its intricate geometry but also for its three-dimensional representation.
A Geometry That Moves Inward
The Sri Yantra is traditionally understood as a geometry that can be contemplated from its outer boundaries toward the centre.
Its structure includes:
- An outer Bhupura, or square enclosure with four gateways
- A ring of 16 lotus petals
- A ring of 8 lotus petals
- Nine interlocking primary triangles
- Multiple smaller triangles created by their intersections
- The central Bindu
The nine principal triangles are traditionally described as four upward-facing triangles and five downward-facing triangles. Their precise interlocking produces the well-known network of 43 smaller triangles.
